Performance features
- 1Water-free mineral separation: This dry magnetic separator requires no process water. Compared with wet separation, it produces no sludge or sewage and saves water resources. Taking Model GXC-8180 rough separator as an example, it can save 600,000 tons of water per year
- 2Superior separation performance: It adopts dynamic magnetic system design. Materials slide, displace and tumble on drum surface without material sticking, which benefits separation. The rough concentrate grade can be increased by 1-4×, and the concentrate grade of one-stage cleaning can reach above 60%
- 3Large processing capacity: Adopting wrapped open-type magnetic system, it avoids material agglomeration and blockage for high throughput. A single rough-separation unit can handle over 50 tons of raw ore. Multiple units can be operated in parallel to multiply output
- 4High production efficiency: Free from water-source restrictions for year-round continuous operation. For water-scarce, seasonally water-short and high-cold regions, it can add 100-150 working days annually and improve equipment utilization rate effectively
Working principle
After flowing into the tank through the feed box, ore particles are dispersed by water jets from feed spray pipes and enter the feeding zone. Subjected to magnetic field, magnetic particles agglomerate into magnetic clusters or magnetic chains, which move toward magnetic poles under magnetic force and adhere to the drum surface. Magnetic poles are arranged alternately along drum rotation direction and remain stationary during operation. Magnetic stirring occurs as clusters/chains rotate with the drum. Gangue and other non-magnetic minerals entrained inside fall off during tumbling. The retained magnetic clusters on drum surface form concentrate. When moving to the magnetic-system edge with minimum magnetic force, concentrate is washed into concentrate launder by flushing water from discharge pipes. For full-magnetic roller type, material discharge is completed by brush roller. Non-magnetic or weakly-magnetic minerals remain in the slurry and are discharged as tailings.
